Oral surgery by Fehér Dental Team
As experienced dental surgeons, we are able to place dental implants even in cases of unfavorable jawbone conditions. We achieve good results with implants, both functionally and aesthetically. However, sometimes bone augmentation is necessary. In this regard, there is a wide range of different bone augmentation methods, which is routinely used in our practice.

Bone apposition & bone meal
The method: bone apposition is one of the simplest techniques of bone augmentation. It involves widening the jawbone to fill it up again in its width. This method is only promising for smaller bone defects. Bone augmentation is also occasionally used in combination with the sinus lift procedure, provided there is a stable space for bone growth.
Bone meal is produced during the drilling process for implants or during the preparation of the implant bed. This bone meal is collected in a filter - or scrapers plane the bone chips from the alveolar ridge.

Sinus lift - bone augmentation in the upper jaw
The sinus lift or sinus floor elevation is a method that is used specifically for bone augmentation in the upper jaw. In this case, a reconstruction is used from a bone height of less than 2 to 3 mm.
Often there is not enough bone in the posterior region of the upper jaw to anchor sufficiently long dental implants. This problem is further complicated by progressive bone loss. Sinus lift is an efficient method of building up bone volume.

Which is the best method?
Which bone augmentation method is used depends on the individual bone situation and also depends on the patient's medical needs. Functional, esthetic and also holistic factors of biological dentistry must be included here.
